Feature & architectural masonry

Free-hand curves, breeze-block screens, sandstone and carved detail.

This is the work I chase. Free-hand curved walls set entirely by eye, no string lines and no set-out templates, plus breeze-block screens, sandstone features, splay corners and carved detail.

The harder the job, the more I want it. Send through the design or a photo and I'll tell you how it builds.

What it covers

  • Free-hand curved and radius walls
  • Breeze-block and screen-block feature walls
  • Sandstone and stone feature work
  • Carved detail, splay corners and corbelling
  • Hosed and tumbled brick finishes
  • Planters, entry statements and water features
The Top End

A signature worth the wait

Curved work and screen blocks suit the Top End. They throw shade, move air, and read well in the light up here. It takes twice as long and it shows. The curved building and breeze-block screen in the gallery are this work.

FAQ

Common questions

  • Can you really build curves without string lines?
Yes. After twenty years it's eye and hand, course by course. It's the work I'm proudest of, and there are curved walls and a radius building in the gallery.
  • Do you work from an architect's drawings?
Happily. Send the spec or detail and I cost it line by line, and flag anything that won't build before you commit.
  • Do you do breeze-block and screen walls?
Yes. Pattern screen blocks laid square and true, as a feature wall, fence infill or privacy screen.
